To most people with journals, I am "Max's wife." And that's a pretty good person to be. While I had loftier goals at the beginning, this journal is now mostly about my life, which means it's basically about Jack, Adoption, and Parenthood.

From time to time, I hope to write about The Stupidity and Small Mindedness of People with Whom I Totally Disagree.

I'm a Carnegie Mellon alum, who was involved in Scotch n Soda. My college finale was directing Godspell for Carnival. In case anyone's counting, I went to Gregory Gardens for Kindergarten, Christ the King (Catholic) for elementary and junior high, and College Park High School. I was a drama geek. I probably still am.

I lived in California for 17 years, went to school in Pittsburgh for 4. I worked as an intern, contractor, and "blue badge" for Microsoft. After graduating, I went to work for Netscape, was laid off 6 months later, then began the Microsoft/Hotmail stint. I moved to New Hampshire in 1998, initally working for eTravel, which was then bought by Oracle in 1999. In July 1999, I started working at Oracle DocTools, a wonderful organization that, alas, is no more. I quit working for Oracle on January 21, 2005.

My "job" for 2005 was to spearhead the adoption process. Then, for two years I was a stay-at-home mom to my son Jackson. At the same time that I started creating an adoption scrapbooking business, we realized how in debt we are, and now I work documenting software that no one is likely to use.

I'm a blogger at AdoptionBlogs.com, which makes me very happy.

In the long-term, I hope that I can scrapbook for a living. I'd like to work in the adoption niche, creating profiles and life books.

I also desperately want to be involved in theatre again, but the time isn't quite right.
